Born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi—the hometown of Jimmie Rodgers—Lach Thornton was baptized in the sounds that built American music. With a childhood steeped in blues, bluegrass, southern rock, and old-school country, he first picked up a guitar at age five, long before he ever imagined stepping behind a microphone. By twelve, he was already cutting his teeth on stage, gigging anywhere folks would pull up a chair and listen.

At sixteen, driven by a calling he could no longer ignore, he packed up and moved to Nashville to chase the music that had shaped him. What followed was a whirlwind few years: sharing big stages with crowds in the thousands and opening for artists like Randy Houser, the Red Clay Strays, Jamey Johnson, Dallas Davidson, Wynn Varble, and Leslie Satcher.

His deep Mississippi roots came full circle when he won the Jimmie Rodgers Songwriting Competition (the oldest festival in America)—an honor that helped propel his solo career forward and affirmed the path he’d been carving since childhood.

Now nineteen, he is living and recording his debut record at Country Music Hall of Famer Cowboy Jack Clement’s legendary Cowboy Arms studio in Nashville, Tennessee—following in the footsteps of the great storytellers and truth-tellers who inspired him.

With a heart shaped by the South, his mission is simple: to make music that is honest, timeless, and true to who he is and where he comes from—and hopefully inspire others to do the same.
